Jack Jin, PhD

Dr. Jack Jin is a neuroscientist, biotechnology leader, and devoted animal lover dedicated to advancing pet health through rigorous science and genuine care.

Inspired by his commitment to family and animal well-being, Dr. Jin founded Dr. Jin Pet Essentials Inc. in 2026. A proud father of two, he believes pet families deserve thoughtfully formulated supplements and nutritional products that combine scientific rigor, high-quality standards, practical value, and compassion.

In addition to leading Dr. Jin Pet Essentials, Dr. Jin serves as a consultant to Kalino Bio, supporting its work to develop nonsurgical immunocontraceptive vaccines for dogs and cats.

Before founding Dr. Jin Pet Essentials, Dr. Jin spent more than a decade building and leading high-impact teams in the biotechnology industry. As Chief Operating Officer of Primary Peptides Inc., he joined as the company’s first employee and played a key role in advancing its translational research and growth from an early-stage startup into a clinical-stage biotechnology company. He later served as Acting Director of Cell Biology at Applied Biological Materials, where he led major research, product development, and commercialization initiatives.

Throughout his scientific career, Dr. Jin has been named as a co-inventor on four patents and has authored seven peer-reviewed research papers in leading scientific journals, including Nature Neuroscience.

Dr. Jin holds a PhD in Neuroscience from the University of British Columbia and a BSc in Biotechnology from Peking University. Today, he brings the same curiosity, discipline, and sense of purpose that have defined his scientific career to Dr. Jin Pet Essentials—helping pet families access high-quality products they can trust and feel confident using every day.

Worawee Janpongsri, MASc

Worawee Janpongsri is an accomplished investor and entrepreneur based in British Columbia. She has successfully founded and developed businesses across technology, education, pet care, and specialty food products.

As a third-generation member of a family-owned enterprise that operates one of Thailand’s largest seafood processors, Worawee brings extensive experience in the food industry, international logistics, and global sourcing. She is passionate about identifying new business opportunities and supporting the growth of local companies.

Recognizing the tremendous potential of pet nutrition, Worawee has applied her industry knowledge and supplier relationships to Dr. Jin Pet Essentials. Her expertise has been instrumental in sourcing high-quality ingredients for Dr. Jin products.

Worawee holds a Bachelor of Applied Science in Computer Engineering, with a minor in Computing Science, and a Master of Applied Science, specializing in real-time applications and innovative technologies in healthcare. Her academic background combines strong expertise in technology and engineering with a focus on developing innovative solutions for the healthcare sector.

Leon Li, MSc

Leon Li is a seasoned professional in the nutrition and health products industry, with extensive experience in product development, quality assurance, regulatory affairs, and commercialization. Before joining Dr. Jin Pet Essentials, he held technical roles at several of North America’s leading nutrition companies, overseeing the development of high-quality, compliant products from concept to market.

As a former president of the BC Food Technologists Association, Leon has mentored emerging industry professionals by sharing his technical knowledge, hands-on experience, and deep understanding of the Canadian food and natural health products sectors.

At Dr. Jin Pet Essentials, Leon leads product commercialization and oversees day-to-day operations. His particular strength lies in transforming promising product concepts into market-ready solutions by connecting formulation, quality, regulatory compliance, manufacturing, and launch execution.

Leon Li holds a master’s degree in food science from the University of British Columbia, and is a certified food scientist (CFS), certified quality auditor (ASQ-CQA), and certified project management professional (PMP).
