Active ingredients per 2 soft chews (5g):
Administer orally according to your dog's body weight. May be given directly or mixed with food. Dosage can be split between AM and PM.
The royal Pom Calming chews seems to work well & it is well tolerated by my older dog who since aging has issues sleeping. The fact this has valerian, magnesium, l tryptophan l-lysine & l-thianine to help relax seems to be what he needed. About one hour after he's ingested the treat he seems to relax & he seems to embrace his sleep. So far he's tolerated the calming chews without any adversity or upset stomach. These chews by Royal Pom seem to work! So I have no complaints. Not to mention the seals show it's a clean product & safe & my dog likes the taste!
My dog is anxious, particularly during electrical storms. This fact made me very interested in these chews. It turns out that they make a noticable difference, in his behaviour, for the better. And, I also like that he thinks that they are treats. So, for a reasonable price, I can calm my dog and reward him at the same time. I give them to him before a storm or if something coming up is likely to stress him.
These dog calming chews are one of many that I've tried over the years. I definitely think these are some of the better ones out there, I often don't seem a noticeable change in my dog when I try these types of chews with her, but these actually do seem to take the edge off for her when she's a bit too worked up or won't settle. The effect isn't too intense, which is good because I'm not looking to sedate her, but there are times when she needs a little help calming down in certain situations, and I'm surprised by how much I can trust these, they seem consistent and predictable so far. I think they are one of the better over the counter calming treats out there.
She is a shepherd, but has a bulletproof stomach, so she isn't a good test of how it'll affect her stomach, but regardless of that I will say there have been no digestive issues with them.
I genuinely believe that these work! I have tried at least 15 different types of calming chews and powders including Purina's calm (which did not work might I add). I have a 96 lb Rottweiler I give him three and a half of these chews and I am telling you the difference in him is insane. He does not get nearly as riled up when I'm trying to leave the house, as when hes not using these. But please make sure you use them about an hour and a half before you do something that causes stress. Additionally and he really loves the taste! 10 out of 10 would recommend these!
Well I've only given them, (to the dog I'm adopting) one time but he is has napped deeply and is no longer displaying anxiety. It's been a bit of a stressful day for both of us. He has been whining to the point of barking in the car. The poor guy needs a constant touch and even that hasn't helped today. His previous owners had calming treats, highly rated ones, but I felt they made him worse. These are amazing so far! He is chilling out, not anxious whining right now. I sure hope these help with his separation anxiety and make the transition easier...on both of us.
I haven't used these chews yet because I bought them specifically for my dog when we have thunderstorms. She gets quite scared of thunder, but fortunately, we haven't had any storms since I received the product. For now, I'm reviewing the formula itself. I like the combination of chamomile, valerian root, passionflower, L-theanine, L-tryptophan, ashwagandha and magnesium. The amounts are clearly listed, and I also like that it is melatonin-free. Overall, the ingredients look well chosen for gentle relaxation and stress support. I'll update my review once my dog actually has a chance to try them during a storm.
I like the combination of ingredients in these calming chews. It's a good rounded mix of supplements aimed at helping with relaxation, rather than relying on just one ingredient. I give them to my dog in the evening to help him settle down, and they've been easy to incorporate into his routine. The nice thing is that he actually loves them, so giving them to him isn't a struggle. Anything that can be given as a treat instead of having to hide it in food is a win in my book. I also haven't had any issues with his digestion, which is always something I pay attention to when introducing a new supplement or treat. He seems to enjoy the chicken flavour, and the soft chew format makes them convenient to give. Overall, I'm happy with these calming chews. I like the mix of ingredients, they're easy to give, my dog enjoys them, and I've had no digestive issues with them. For an evening calming routine, these are a really convenient option.
One of our dogs suffers from separation anxiety (abandoned at least once, deaf, nearly blind, rehomed multiple times before we got him), so I was pretty keen to try these chews on him. We have cameras in the house so we can monitor him while we are away from home. Normally we can see him spend a lot of time pacing around, but he is clearly much more relaxed and happy when he has a couple of these before we leave. Definitely recommended!
My dogs absolutely love these vitamins. They've been taking them for quite a while now, and I've noticed some positive changes in their overall health since adding them to their daily routine. Their coats seem healthier and shinier, and they seem to have good energy and are doing well overall. They're small and easy for the dogs to take, and there isn't any strong or unpleasant smell to them. My dogs actually enjoy getting their vitamins and have no problem taking them. I've been really happy with the results so far, especially since they've been using them consistently for a while. I can't say these vitamins are solely responsible for the changes I've noticed, but I do feel they've been a positive addition to their routine. alot calmer then usual. Overall, these vitamins have been a great addition for my dogs. They're small, don't have a bad smell, the dogs love them, and I've noticed their coats and overall condition seem better since they've been taking them consistently.
I like that these are melatonin-free and use natural ingredients aimed at helping dogs with stress and anxiety. The formula includes ingredients such as [ingredients from the product listing], which are generally used to promote relaxation and help take the edge off nervous or stressful behaviour. The ingredients aren't going to magically eliminate anxiety, though. They're more of a calming support, so I'd expect them to be most useful for things like occasional nervousness, stressful situations or helping a dog settle down rather than treating serious anxiety. I also like that the formula is focused on calming without making melatonin the main ingredient. That makes it a good option for people who specifically don't want to use melatonin for their dog. I'm giving it four stars because I think the concept and ingredient selection are good, but I wouldn't expect dramatic results from a chew like this. It's more of a gentle calming aid than a solution for significant anxiety.
NOTE: This is a detailed review covering my experience with this product. If you prefer a shorter overview, feel free to skip to the Pros & Cons and Final Thoughts sections near the end. I am reviewing the DR JIN PET "Royal Pom Calming Chews Stress & Anxiety Relief, Relaxation for Dogs." ___________________________ Why I Ordered These My Shiba suffers from separation anxiety and stress and is generally always just go-go-go, so I wanted something that might help calm her down a little and keep her at ease when I leave. I don't know if it's these treats or not, but based on my observations after she has taken one, and from checking my cameras after I've left the house, she seems to be calmer. She doesn't carry on by constantly walking around the house like a security guard doing perimeter rounds. Obviously, I can't say for certain that the chews are responsible for the difference I'm seeing, but I have noticed a change since giving them to her. ___________________________ Taste and Texture I can't tell you how they taste because I haven't tried them myself, but they don't last very long on the floor before she gobbles them up, so that must mean they are good! They don't have a bad smell either. I've had some dog treats that don't smell particularly appetizing, but these don't have that issue. I also like that these are soft chews. My Shiba is getting up there in age, so having something soft makes it much easier for her to chew compared with harder treats. ___________________________ Dosage The treats include directions explaining how many to give your dog based on their weight. Since my Shiba weighs 20 lbs, the recommended amount for her is one chew. That is what I have been giving her each day before leaving for work in the morning. As I mentioned, these seem to have an effect on my dog, but I wouldn't say they are some miracle treat that will completely get rid of stress or anxiety. I'm not a vet, and I can only go by what I have observed with my own dog. Based on my experience so far, they seem to be helping, and if there is any improvement, then we are both happy. Worst case, they don't do anything, but my dog still gets a treat, so it's a win-win either way! ___________________________ My Experience So Far She has been taking these for over a week, and so far I have not noticed any negative side effects. I also like that these are formulated in Canada. I did some research on Dr. Jack Jin, who has a PhD in neuroscience, and found information about his background in science and biotechnology, including his education at the University of British Columbia. He is also associated with Primary Peptides, a company that produces peptides for pharmaceutical partners, and has spent more than 10 years in that field before starting DR JIN PET. That background gave me some additional confidence in the company and the person behind the product. ___________________________ Ingredients Based on my research, the active ingredients in these chews are natural ingredients that are commonly used in calming products for dogs. That gives me some reassurance that the ingredients are not unusual for this type of product. However, every dog is different, so I would still recommend reviewing the ingredients and dosage for your own dog and speaking with your veterinarian if you have concerns. ___________________________ Pros • My dog seems calmer after taking them • May help with stress and separation anxiety • Soft and easy to chew • My dog seems to enjoy the taste • Don't have an unpleasant smell • Clear weight-based dosage instructions • Easy to give once a day • No negative effects noticed during my first week of use • Formulated in Canada Cons • I can't say for certain that the chews are responsible for the change I've noticed • They are not a miracle cure for anxiety or stress • Results will likely vary from dog to dog ___________________________ Final Thoughts So far, I'm happy with these calming chews. My Shiba seems to be more relaxed after taking one, and I've noticed that she doesn't spend as much time constantly walking around the house when I leave. I want to be clear that this is based entirely on my observations. I can't say that these chews are definitely responsible for the change, and I wouldn't expect any treat to completely eliminate anxiety or stress. After using them for over a week, I haven't noticed any negative side effects, and my dog happily eats them. The soft texture is also a plus for an older dog. For me, if these can help take the edge off her stress when I leave the house, then I'm happy. Even if the effect is subtle, any improvement is a good thing in my books. ___________________________ ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Star Rating: 5 out of 5 Stars Based on my experience so far, I'm giving these 5 stars. My dog seems to enjoy them, they are easy for her to chew, and most importantly, I've noticed what appears to be a positive change in how relaxed she is when I leave. I'll continue watching her behaviour, but so
These are soft chews you give your dog when they get stressed. Loud noise, car rides, storms, being home alone. Times like that. There is no melatonin in them. Some people do not want to give their dog melatonin, so this skips it. The stuff inside comes from plants and other natural sources instead. They help your dog relax. Not knock them out. Your dog stays awake and still acts like themselves. They just do not panic as much. They can also help with bad behavior that comes from stress. Barking a lot. Chewing your shoes. Pacing around the house. Shaking. If your dog does that when they get nervous, these may help. The company says the recipe is based on studies, not guesses. So the ingredients were picked for a reason. Give them before the stressful thing happens, not after. Before the car ride. Before the fireworks. That works better. They will not fix everything. A dog with bad anxiety may still need a vet. But for normal nervous days, these are an easy thing to try. Your dog eats it like a treat, so no fighting with pills
I was curious to see how my dog would react to these since anything meant to help with stressful situations can be hard to judge right away. The chews arrived in good condition and have a soft texture that makes them easy to give. My dog didn't hesitate with them, which made the first try pretty simple. I've used them a few times over the past couple of days during times when my dog tends to be a little more restless. So far, I've noticed a slightly more settled attitude afterward, but nothing dramatic. My dog still acts completely normal and alert, which I appreciate. There hasn't been any obvious grogginess during the times I've tried them. I also haven't noticed any stomach issues or reluctance to eat them. It's definitely too early for me to say how consistent the calming effect will be, especially during something more stressful like a storm or extended car ride. For these first few uses, though, they've been easy to work into the routine and my dog treats them like a regular treat. PROS: Dog eats them willingly Soft and easy to give No obvious grogginess so far Simple to add to the routine CONS: Calming effect has been fairly subtle Too early to judge consistency Results may be easier to notice during stressful situations After a couple of days, these have been easy to give and my dog seems comfortable with them. I'll need more time and different situations to get a better sense of how noticeable the calming effect really is.
These calming chews offer a convenient way to add a relaxation-support product to a dog's routine. The chew format is straightforward to portion and is less complicated than measuring a liquid or powder. I appreciate that the formula is melatonin-free and is designed to support calm behaviour during stressful situations. Results with pet supplements can vary from one dog to another, so I would treat the calming claims as individual rather than guaranteed. As with any canine supplement, it is important to follow the label directions and check with a veterinarian when appropriate. Overall, the convenient format and thoughtfully positioned formula make this a strong option for owners seeking gentle calming support.
These calming chews are really easy to give, which is a big plus for me. They're soft chews rather than something I have to hide in food or struggle to get my dog to take, and the chicken flavor makes them much more appealing. I also like that there are 100 chews in the container, so there's a good supply on hand when needed. The chews are a convenient option to have around, especially for situations when I want to help keep my dog relaxed. I appreciate that they're easy to use and that the container has a secure lid for keeping them fresh. Overall, I'm happy with these and would definitely recommend them to other dog owners looking for an easy calming chew.
My dog loves these and eats them like a treat. They are easy to digest and we haven't experienced any negative side effects. They work well to promote a calm feeling and take the edge off. The effects are very subtle, they won't make your dog sleepy or anything and you may not even really notice a difference. But I do find they help when my dog is restless or anxious, especially during storms, when we have company over, when the neighbors are making noise, etc. They are easy to give, seem to be good quality and are affordable, definitely worth a try if you have an anxious dog.
I like the simplicity of these calming chews. They're a soft chew rather than something you have to mix into food, so they're easy to give as part of the daily routine or when you know a stressful situation is coming up. The formula includes ingredients like chamomile, valerian, passion flower and L-theanine, which are intended to support relaxation without being a sedative. I also appreciate that the directions are based on the dog's weight rather than just giving every dog the same amount. With calming supplements, I think it's important to follow the label and pay attention to how your own dog responds rather than expecting an instant miracle. Likes: - Easy soft-chew format - Simple to add to a dog's routine - Designed for everyday or situational stress - Weight based dosing - 100 chews in the container Things to Note: - Every dog can respond differently to calming supplements - Follow the dosing directions carefully - Check with your veterinarian if your dog takes medication or has an underlying condition Overall: A convenient option for adding some calming support to a dog's routine without having to deal with powders or liquids. I like the straightforward chew format and ingredient blend.
We ordered the Royal Pom calming chews for our bigger dog who experiences situational anxiety setbacks. The Royal Pom chews are formulated in Canada, and meet most safety criteria (ie. VHP designation, premium ingredients, identified ingredient amounts, GMP facility, clinical studies noted) we expect when using supplements with our pets. We are fans of some of the other Dr Jin line of pet supplements so are comfortable with trying this formulation. There are 100 chews in the tub, and they are each similar in size and shape to most supplement chews of this type. We always start small to ensure no negative side effects occur and will build up to recommended dosage, this approach takes time but we are pleased so far. The chews are being consumed without coercion or issue by our bigger dog. We have not yet noticed any significant changes but will update this review as that happens.
Product arrived as shown in the advertisement and in protective packaging. My dog really enjoyed these calming treats and had no issues eating them. She can sometimes get pretty anxious when strangers are in the home, so I decided to give these a try and see if they would help. Within about an hour, I noticed that she seemed much calmer and more relaxed than usual. She settled down and took a really good nap without constantly waking up or getting worked up by the activity around her. I was pleasantly surprised by how well they seemed to work for her. Of course, every dog is different, but based on our experience so far, I'm very happy with these and will definitely keep them on hand for situations that tend to make her anxious.
These calming chews have really worked well for our dogs, who both have a touch of separation anxiety. We give them a couple of chews before we head off to work or even just make a quick trip to the grocery store, and they seem to settle down and have a much more restful, relaxed time while nobody is home. I like that these are melatonin-free and made with natural ingredients, so they're an easy addition to our dogs' routine when we know they'll be spending some time alone. We've noticed a definite difference in how relaxed they seem when we get back, which is exactly what we were hoping for. Another big plus for us is that this is a Canadian-made formula. It's always nice to find a product made here that works well for our dogs. These have become a regular part of our routine whenever we need to leave the house, and I'm very happy with how well they've worked for us.
My dog can become anxious during thunderstorms, fireworks and long car rides, so calming supplements are always something I'm interested in trying. These chews were accepted immediately without needing to hide them in food, which is often half the battle with supplements. The soft texture makes them easy to chew, and the container provides clear feeding guidelines based on your dog's size. While every dog responds differently, these have become a convenient part of our routine before situations that are likely to cause stress. If your dog struggles with occasional anxiety, these calming chews are certainly worth considering.
